Standards Revision Workshop
16 February 2012
IPEd Council has made revision of the Australian Standards for Editing Practice its highest priority for the coming six months. To this end, IPEd has engaged the services of Kerry Davies AE, President of the Queensland Society of Editors, to coordinate and facilitate the final stages of the revision.
Kerry has prepared a paper for societies to use as they contribute to the Standards revision. That paper, together with other documents can be found in the Members Section of this website.
Members are invited to attend the workshop on 16 February 2012 in place of our usual monthly dinner meeting. The society will provide food and beverages to participants.
Members will receive more information by email over the coming weeks. In the meantime, you are invited to download the following documents from the Members Section of the website to read and prepare for that workshop:
- Discussion paper, October 2011
- Original Australian Standards for Editing Practice, 2001
- Most recent revision (draft 3), April 2011
- Track Changes comparison of the two documents
- Professional Editorial Standards, Canada, 2009
- SfEP Code of Practice: Ensuring Editorial Excellence, UK, 2005
