The Society is a member of the Institute of Professional Editors Limited (IPEd)
National Editors Conferences
Every two years, the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) supports national conferences for editors. Each conference is hosted and organised in turn by one of the state/territory societies of editors.
The 1st national editors conference was held in Brisbane in 2003.
In 2005, the Society of Editors (Victoria) hosted the 2nd national editors conference, Editing in Context.
The Tasmanian Society of Editors hosted the next conference, From Inspiration to Publication, in 2007.
The 4th conference, Getting the Message Across, was hosted by the South Australian Society of Editors, 8-10 October 2009.
